Transfer Students
Transfer Credit Policy
Transfer students must meet the admission requirements and follow designated procedures in order to be admitted to WHU. The Academic Department will examine an admitted transfer student's transcripts and transfer credit will be granted based on how equivalent the course content and instructional hours are to the classes taught at WHU.
Credit will be offered for courses taken at educational institutions that are approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Any credits submitted from a non-accredited school are subject to evaluation from the Academic Department and may or may not be granted after they are reviewed. Credit cannot be given for courses with a "D" grade or lower. All transfer credits are granted at the discretion of the Academic Department.
Student may request to take a challenge exam if transfer credit is not granted and the student earned above a "D" in the class. If a student makes a 75% or above on the challenge exam, transfer credit may be granted. An administrative fee of 50% of the equivalent course tuition will be charged for each challenge examination administered to a student. The challenge exams are available at the Seminary's discretion. Any student with questions should contact the Academic Department.
Evaluation of transfer credits
Transfer credits will be evaluated by the Academic Department upon receipt of:
-
Academic transcript(s)
-
Completed transfer credit request form
The Academic Department of Washington Heritage University reserves the right to make decisions about transferrable credits from student’s attended college(s)/university(ies). If WHU has a question as to whether the content of prior coursework is equivalent to the course for which the transfer credit is sought, WTS will require the student to provide additional information regarding the course, such as a course description and/or course syllabi.
Criteria such as the the nature, content, quality, level, and units/hours of courses are all taken into account during the course-to-course evaluation process. Further investigation into a school and/or course's credentials by an independent agency may be conducted before credit is granted.
